IME West – Collaboration is the Key to Success

Prodigy is excited to announce that we will be showcasing our work and expertise at IME West in Anaheim, CA, from February 6-8. IME West is the leading advanced manufacturing event connecting engineers, executives, R&D, manufacturing, quality, and buyers across the medtech, automation, packaging, design, and plastics fields. Attendees have the opportunity to discover world-changing innovations and develop their industry knowledge through various educational opportunities.

We are excited to share that our own Brian Magill, Director of Product Development at Prodigy, will be leading a panel at the event on Wednesday, February 7 at 2:15 pm PST. The panel, titled “The Best of All Worlds – Collaboration with Internal Engineering, Contract Manufacturers, and Outside Design Firms,” will lead a thought-provoking discussion between Brian, Gene Payne (Principle Product Development Engineer, Johnson & Johnson Surgical Vision), and Jenna Joestgen (Director of Engineering Solutions – Healthcare/Life Sciences, Plexus).

When developing new capital medical devices, Product Owners have a wide variety of choices when it comes to who will be responsible for completing the design, engineering, and testing. Often times a mixed approach can be beneficial, where responsibilities are divided between in house engineering, contract manufacturers, and outside design firms. This panel discussion will center around when and how to divide the work up, benefits to overall product schedule and quality, natural challenges that arise, and collaboration tools to keep everything on track.

Before and after the panel you can also visit Prodigy at booth #3425 on the Anaheim Convention Center show floor to experience the benefits of a full-service engineering firm. Our experts will be onsite to discuss the following:
